OLIO EXTRAVERGINE D'OLIVA Although the province of Forlì-Cesena does not present a huge number of plants of olive groves, recently we are witnessing a renewed interest on this crop, on the techniques of milling and on the quality of the final product.
Also thanks to the recognition of the two DOP oil and the increasing quality, the oil Romagna has gained fame at the national level and a growing number of local consumers.
These two factors have given a strong boost to the world of olive province, with a significant increase in the number of plants, producers and mills.
This culture has spread in environments of low and medium hills at altitudes lower than 200 m, and only rarely at higher altitudes, and the ideal temperature for a good production should never go below 7 degrees during the year.
The most common varieties are: Correggiolo, frantoio, Leccino, Ghiacciola, selvatico; Colombina, Capolga, Nostrana di Brisighella, Grapudda ed Orfana.
